
The Birla Radha Krishna Mandir, inaugurated in May 2023, is the latest addition to the legacy of over 30 Birla temples across India. Situated within the picturesque campus of BITS Pilani, Goa, at Sancoale, this temple beautifully combines tradition with modernity. Crafted from exquisite Makrana white marble, the temple embodies purity and devotion, with its intricate carvings and striking Nagara-style architecture.
The temple features five shikharas (temple towers) that rise majestically, symbolizing spiritual ascent. The sanctum houses the idols of Radha and Krishna, adorned with intricate detailing and embodying divine grace. A notable addition to the complex is a beautifully sculpted Hanuman idol, which adds to its spiritual significance.
Built in just 22 months with the labor of 1,500 skilled artisans and craftsmen, this temple reflects a commitment to excellence and devotion. The inauguration was graced by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Avimukteshvaranand Saraswati, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, and members of the Birla family. This project highlights the Birla family’s vision of fostering spiritual consciousness and preserving India’s cultural heritage.
